REPAIR & MAINTENANCE

 

Excess Wear & Tear

Excess Wear & Tear is sold on leased vehicles and will cover most of the common wear/reconditioning charges when you trade your vehicle in after your lease is up. 

Rim & Tire

Rim and Tire is a product that protects your tires/wheels against road hazards. In this program, we will have two coverage levels; Standard Plus and Premium Plus. Both coverages will repair tires up to $50, repair wheels up to $150, and cosmetic repairs up to $150. If non-repairable, Premium Plus covers up to $500 per Tire and $1000 per rim, while the Standard Plus covers up to $250 per tire and $500 per rim (the max limits listed in the file are correct). 

High Mileage Mechanical Repair

The High Mileage Mechanical Repair Service Contract is a VSC that is sold on higher mileage/older vehicles and has improved coverage over the Experienced wrap products. Only Gold and Powertrain coverage will be available in this program.

Oil Change & Tire Rotation

Oil Change and Tire Rotation (OTR) is a prepaid maintenance package that allows customers to prepay and receive a bulk discount for oil changes/tire rotations.

Paintless Dent Repair

Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) is a product that will cover the cost to repair minor dents and dings on the vertical panels of a customers vehicle. A technician will go into the back of a body panel and pop out/smooth the dent. It does not cover repainting or repairing holes/creases.

Vehicle Protection Plus

Vehicle Protection Plus (VPP) is typically sold on leased vehicles, and covers parts that commonly go bad over time in a car, such as brake pads or wiper blades. Over the term of the contract, the customer is given a stated number of these items if they were to go bad. VPP differs from the general VSC because it does not extend the or “wrap” the manufacturers comprehensive warranty. Instead, it covers these “consumable” components that are not included in general VSC’s or warranties.

Tech Protection

Tech Protection is built for customers who only want coverage for the high tech components of their vehicle as opposed to full mechanical coverage. This product includes advanced technological components such as the NAV, cruise control, HUDs, factory installed WiFi, etc.

Silent Security Theft Protection

This product gives customers a cash benefit (predetermined, based on the level selected at the time of sale) if their car is stolen. Essentially, if you can prove your car has been stolen you will receive a check.

GAP

GAP is an industry standard product that can cover a customer financial liability in the event of a total loss. If the amount you owe on your vehicle to the finance company is greater than the payout you would receive from insurance in the case of a total loss, GAP will cover the difference so you do not owe money to the lender.

Mechanical Repair Service Contract

The “Mechanical Repair Service Contract” is the brochure which will provide general information on MetroGuard’s core Vehicle Service Contracts (VSC). There will be 3 coverage options – Platinum, Gold, and Powertrain – which is tiered based on the components included in coverage. Platinum is the highest and protects almost all parts of a vehicle.

PREMIUM COVERAGE

 

MetroGuard Experienced

The experienced program is for older and higher mileage vehicles that are not eligible for other VSC’s due to the risk factor. The experienced warranty is included with the sale of the vehicle, and the customer has the option to “wrap” extend this coverage by purchasing an extension. The components are equivalent to the Powertrain coverage in the General VSC.

Diamond Lifetime Warranty

Some dealers may choose to offer lifetime warranties on vehicles they sell. This coverage is powertrain only, but does offer Rental Reimbursement and Roadside (not travel reimbursement).

Diamond Certified Warranty (& Wrap)

 The Diamond Certified Warranty is provided on preowned vehicles that the dealership decided to inspect and give a “certification” to. Similar to when you would buy a certified preowned vehicle specific to a manufacturer (such as a BMW Certified Preowned), you are given extended coverage up to a certain time included with the vehicle. The customer has the option to purchase a “wrap”, which can provide more coverage and extends the term further.

MetroGuard Total Care

This is a bundle product that includes multiple ancillary products to the customer at one cost. It consists of 6 products listed out in the desk mats.

First Place Finish Car Care System

First Place Finish Car Care System is a product that covers the surfaces of a vehicle. Specific coverage varies based on the age of vehicle (coverage offered for New is different than preowned) and it can be offered as a warranty.
